rd <br />-Julie Seydel requested as many LCC meetings on 3Thursdays as <br />possible in the Arts Center. <br />9.City Council update: <br />-Budget meetings about to occur <br />-Ward Meetings soon –learned Ward 3 had already met with only three <br />attendees. That is apparently because notices are not getting out to <br />everyone, e.g., none are given to citizens using auto-pay on their water <br />bills, or who live within HOA’s which get one general water bill. <br />10.Art in the park <br />-Maryan reported four sculptures were mounted for opening <br />-City paid for installations and will bill LCC <br />-Voting by public progresses <br />-The plaques are on order <br />-Suggested fundraiser for funds to buy winningsculpture be done at <br />Mountain High Appliances featuring dinner and drinks prepared by <br />Louisville chefs and Louisville bartenders. Long discussion as to optimal <br />date and day of week. Council informally advised waiting until after the <br />Holidays and setting it up in February or March 2011 <br />-Someone may donate an “excellent” sculpture. Kathy Martin advised <br />extreme care in accepting such as it requires space and City expense in <br />mounting and maintaining it, as well as existing and any future sculptures. <br />12.Grant Writing <br />a.Justine Vigil-Tapia is working on the Community Foundation proposal <br />and asked several questions about which grant category she should <br />address. Consensus was to trust her judgment as to what would work <br />13.Fund raising and Sponsorships <br />a.No report <br />14.Events <br />- <br />Painting Louisville has only a few artists signed up. Reception is from 3 – <br />th <br />5 PM on October 16 <br />-Went over upcoming events –Anasazi String Quartet on 11/16 –Silent <br />movie and orchestra on 12/16 –Coffeehouse concert on 12/16 <br />-No reports on recent events <br />11.Discrimination policy and by laws <br />-It was noted that LCC’s request for wording on an antidiscriminatory <br />policy necessary for grant applications had resulted in an entire new set of <br />draft by-laws prepared by the City <br />-It was explained that that resulted from twothings happening, i.e., our <br />request and apparently from the City realizing some board and council by <br />laws were seriously out of date the City Council requested that all by laws <br /> <br />
