Dave Ferguson said that in September we generally pay in about $500 <br />for our annual fee plus postage.It was moved, seconded and carried to authorize the <br />payment of $500 for the postage account.Sally Burlingame volunteered to take the check <br />to the Post Office. <br />th <br />c.On August 7,several Commissionmembers attended the Superior Historical Commission <br />meeting and tourof the new Superior Museum. Members of the Louisville, Lafayette and <br />Superior historical organizationsattended. They exchanged ideas about events, funding, <br />andmuseumhours. <br />IX.Museum and CommissionProjects <br />History Book Club <br />a..The history book club took a field trip to Erie to see the Wise <br />HomesteadMuseum, Old Town,and the Spirit of Flight Museum. <br />Walking Tour <br />b.. Anne Robinson collected $95 in donations from the last tour, which was <br />well attended. <br />Oral History Program <br />c..It was mentioned that Museum volunteers have interviewed <br />Carolyn and PercyConarroewhoowned the LouisvilleTimes, among others, in recent <br />weeks.It was moved, seconded and carried to authorizean additional $1500 for funding <br />for the Museum’s oral history program, which will cover such things as thepurchase of <br />additional DVDs and supplies for the program. <br />Fall Festival <br />d.. Sean Moynihan turned in the permitfor the parade, so the Commissionis set <br />to have a small contingent of the Koglin and Moynihan families dressed in historical garb. <br />X.Chairperson’s Report <br />: <br />Membership. <br />a.Dan Mellishencouraged members to promotemembership among <br />businesses. We’ve gained 75 new individual memberships so far in 2010. Last year we <br />had 118 new memberships. Personal outreach to friends and acquaintancesis usually <br />most effective.At thenext Historical Walking Tour, membership forms and complimentary <br />copies of The Louisville Historianwill be shared with people on the tour. <br />Percy Conarroeletter. <br />b.Dan Mellish read aloud an email message thatPercyConarroe <br />sent to Bridget Bacon following his interview with the oral history program. In his message, <br />he praised and congratulated the Museum and the volunteers who interviewed him. <br />The Library Board of Trustees and Louisville Historical Commissionjoint meeting is <br />c. <br />set for Thursday, Sept. 16, to begin at the Museumat 6:00 p.m.This meeting is in lieu of <br />the regularly scheduled Commissionmeeting. We will have potluck appetizers, a tourof <br />the Museumand Library, and then we will meet in the Libraryto share programmatic ideas. <br />XI.CommissionComments. <br />There were no additional comments. <br />XII.The next regular meeting is Wednesday, October 20 at 6:30 p.m. <br />XIII.Adjourn, 8 p.m. <br /> <br />
