August 26, 1993
City of Louisville
1201 Grant Ave.
Request for Variance
Page 2
5. That the variance, if granted, will not alter the essential character of the
neighborhood or district in which the property is located nor substanttally or
permanently impair the appropriate use or development of adjacent property,
The proposal is a single family residence as presently exists on this property and in the
neighborhood. The addition is within the average set backs of the block and area.
(Directly across the street is a single family residence with a zero foot (0') street setback.)
6. That the variance, if granted, is the minimum variance that will afford
relief and is the least modification possible of the provisions of Title 17 of the
Louisville Municipal Code which are in question.
The nonconforming areas of the addition is located entirely within the existing setbacks
already present. The addition is within the average set backs of the block and area. The
addition locations chosen conform to all other zoning requirements : other yard setbacks,
height and bulk, lot coverage etc.
Thank you for your consideration,
Peter Stewart
