foot projection would not be uncomfortable in size, but the concrete slab is extremely
thick and it would just not be aesthetically pleasing at all.
Clark Metsker:
Q.
I have a question on the drawings that we received. It shows four 12-inch diameter 3-foot
deep concrete piers. That would be at the edge of the patio. Are those there now?
A. No, they are not.
Chairman Shiker:
Q.
And the intent of the sun room is to make an additional room with eating space in it,
versus just an outdoor sun room?
A. It is an outdoor, non -habitable space, it's not intended to be heated or cooled or used on a
year round basis. It is an enclosed patio. Typically people will furnish it with the same
type of outdoor furniture. I do have several colored brochures that would show better
than an elevation drawing what something like this looks like.
Q. Okay. If you will bring them forward we will have to admit them into evidence, so we will
have to keep them.
A. That's fine.
Q. We will mark this Exhibit A.
A. The Armours have opted for what we call glass to ground units.
Public Present In Opposition or In Favor of Application:
Opposed:
Lowell Campbell, 586 Cleveland Avenue. I don't have any disagreement with the type of
structure, and I don't have any disagreement with the proposal other than the fact that the
applicant stated that she had no argument with the city's line of reasoning, and the city's line of
reasoning was that they didn't meet the criteria. So, if she doesn't have any argument with that,
that means that she agrees that there is no hardship and consequently if that's the case, then they
don't meet the criteria. So, consequently based on that, I don't see how the variance could be
granted.
In Favor: There were none.
3
