She noted <br />that the house had a great deal of integrity, but given that the homeowners were <br />saving the house and adding on to the second floor, she felt releasing the permit <br />was appropriate. <br /> <br />. 1233 LaFarge Avenue - Lewis reported that she and Koertje reviewed this <br />request and neither felt it necessary stay the permit. She noted that the house <br />was not in particularly good condition and would likely not withstand ddition. <br />Koertje was in agreement. <br /> <br /> <br />Properties Potentially Affected by FasTracks <br />Miss Downer's Cabins, 809 & 801 Lee Avenue <br />Jean Morgan spoke to the Commission about a possible letter writing <br />and rehabilitate the cabins in place. She noted that she woul er to ke <br />in place and not move them if at all possible. <br /> <br />Wilcox noted that in his conversations with the owner, the own very clear that he <br />wanted to develop the property and would demolish the cabins if they were still on the <br />property when he is ready to develop. The owner, however, is willing to donate the <br />cabins for relocation to the Harney Lastoka Property as was discussed previously. <br /> <br />Morgan noted that if the only way to preserve the cabins is to move them, she would <br />support the move. <br /> <br />Members asked Muth to determine what the cost would be to move the cabins to the <br />Harney Lastoka Site. Muth will gather information on relocation costs including the cost <br />of moving the buildings and building any required foundations. Wilcox added that he <br />would be willing to get the k om the owner and meet with City staff to examine the <br />interior of the buildings to s cturally they can withstand a move. <br /> <br /> <br />Childs noted that perha mmission can find alternative funding for the project. <br />She noted that her comp may be willing to donate time and labor for some <br />rehabilitation work once the cabins are in place. Members agreed to the following <br />: The front, street facing faqade as well as 10 feet of the original walls or 25% <br />th of the house, whichever is smaller and including porches and windows. <br /> <br />Members did not find any other factors that should be included to qualify for the bonus. <br /> <br />Muth will meet with Planning staff to discuss administration of the program and the <br />recommended side-yard bonus that Planning staff wants to include. Next, the <br />recommendations will go to the City Attorney for inclusion in an ordinance. It is possible <br />the ordinance will be ready for Planning Commission review by March. <br />
