Parks and Public Landscaping Advisory Board <br />November 6, 2024 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br />IX. Staff and Board Reports <br />1. The Parks Department has completed resurfacing of Sports Complex, replacing sand <br />with engineered surface. <br />2. Reworking orientation of two existing fields, to create an additional multi -use field. <br />3. Looking at socialized Bike Trails behind the Rec Center requested by the Open Space <br />Advisory Board. <br />4. Interfacing with the Recreation Advisory Board regarding resurfacing of Tennis Courts <br />for Tournament activity. <br />5. Next round of Median restoration set for 2026. <br />6. Louisville Bee City USA set up a booth at Ecotober Festival, which was very well <br />attended. <br />7. Louisville Bee City USA is a sponsor and exhibitor at the Colorado Pollinator Network <br />Pollinator Summit, scheduled for November 18, 2024, to be held at the Denver Botanic <br />Gardens. <br />8. Outdoor amenities meeting is scheduled for this coming Tuesday, could use another <br />PPLAB board member as replacement for members moving off. <br />9. Pickleball courts now are planned for inline skating area, Tennis Courts will be <br />resurfaced and expanded for Tennis or Pickleball programs. <br />X. Discussion Items for Next Meeting <br />1. Private Tennis behind 7th Generation Farm, originally marked for Multi -use fields. <br />PPLAB suggested that we encourage Dir. Blackmore in building out Multi -use facilities at <br />that location. Will need Council sponsorship for this multi -year project. <br />2. Continue with Sunflower and Enclave park renovation and design discussions. <br />3. Provide updated draft of 2025 /work Plan. <br />4. Send invitation to Dir. Bailey to discuss long range budget plans and possible action for <br />anticipated shortfall in Parks Budget. <br />5. Three current members of PPLAB will be rolling off the committee next year: Shannon <br />Mihaly, Patricia Rogers, and Ellen Toon. We thank them for their amazing service and <br />contributions to PPLAB and the City of Louisville. We will have three new members in <br />January. <br />XI. Adjourned at 8:30 pm. <br />6 <br />
