Public Works Director Phare confirmed Xcel Energy would pay outside <br /> water users tap fees. <br /> MOTION: Council member Clabots moved to approve Resolution No. 51, Series <br /> 2006, seconded by Council member Marsella. All in favor. <br /> CONSIDERATION OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) WITH <br /> METRO MAYOR'S CAUCUS ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND <br /> CONSERVATION <br /> Assistant City Manager Heather Balser and Mayor Sisk explained at the January <br /> 2006 Metro Metro Mayors Caucus retreat the Caucus decided to convene an <br /> Energy and Efficiency Committee for the purpose of gathering information on <br /> best practices and drafting a memorandum of understanding akin to the earlier <br /> Water Conservation and Stewardship MOU. The purpose of the MOU is to create <br /> an instrument through which mayors and their municipalities could 1) espouse <br /> the economic and environmental benefits of energy efficiency and conservation, <br /> and 2) commit to actively pursue energy efficiency and conservation within their <br /> communities through a menu of voluntary options. Each municipality would <br /> decide what options to pursue and to what extent it will pursue those options. <br /> The LRCAB has reviewed the MOU and has offered no comments. The Metro <br /> Mayors Caucus has asked municipalities seek approval for signature by the <br /> Mayor prior to November 14. <br /> MOTION: Council member Sackett moved to authorize the Mayor to sign the <br /> Metro Mayors Caucus Energy and Efficiency Memorandum of Understanding, <br /> seconded by Council member Clabots. All in favor. <br /> ORDINANCE No. 1501, SERIES 2006 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br /> CHAPTER 6.12 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING THE <br /> LICENSING OF DOGS - 1st reading - set public hearing 11/21/06 <br /> Mayor Sisk requested a City AttornE~y introduction. <br /> City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1501, Series 2006. <br /> MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved to send Ordinance No. 1501, Series 2006 out for <br /> publication and set a public hearing for November 21,2006, seconded by <br /> Council member Muckle. All in favor. <br />
