Louisville City Council Meeting <br />April 18, 2000 <br />Page 3. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mayer stated that at a recent Ward meeting Louisville resident Randy Luallen had <br />requested that the City not pave the street in front of his house. Mayer asked that Staff <br />contact Mr. Luallen. <br /> <br />Mayer addressed the Peak to Peak Charter School issue. He stated that the Louisville <br />Municipal Code requires that all schools go through a SRU process. He noted that he <br />reviewed a letter from Mr. Dick Murphy, stating that building permits for schools are <br />issued by the State. Mayer noted that issuance of building permits has nothing to do with <br />the City's Special Review Process. Mayer asked that the Peak to Peak Charter School <br />Board work with the City and go through the appropriate process. <br /> <br />Sisk stated that he had received letters from citizens asking Council to look into the <br />purchase of 7.5 acres on Spruce Street. <br /> <br />Davidson stated that the City spoke with the owner several months ago and the owner <br />indicated that he was not interested in selling his property. <br /> <br />Sisk stated that the Senior Board thanked Council for the transportation alternatives <br />proposed by the City. <br /> <br />Sisk informed Council that Mr. Connor or his agents, who represent the Peak to Peak <br />Charter School, graded the lot for the school without obtaining a permit from the City. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION - EARTH DAY <br /> <br />Davidson proclaimed April 22, 2000 as Earth Day. He reported that the Louisville <br />Resource Conservation Advisory Board (LRCAB) has planned the third annual Earth <br />Day Celebration in Louisville to be held on April 29, 2000. Activities will take place at <br />Memory Square Park from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., and will include music, conservation <br />demonstrations and educational booths. Mayor Davidson presented the Earth Day <br />Proclamation to Kyle Callahan who accepted on behalf of the LRCAB. <br /> <br />Kyle Callahan thanked the Council for recognizing Earth day and for continual support of <br />recycling efforts and environmental issues. He stated that Louisville has made great <br />strides in preservation of the environment. <br /> <br />Davidson thanked the members of the LRCAB for their hard work. <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br /> <br />
