<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August16,2005 <br />Page 9 of 11 <br /> <br />Council member Brown expressed his concern with the collections methods for <br />delinquent sales and use tax. <br /> <br />VOTE: All in favor. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE No. 1476 SERIES 2005 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 15.36 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE, REGARDING <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION - 1st reading - set public hearing 9/6/065 <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested an ordinance introduction. <br /> <br />City Clerk Varra read Ordinance No. 1476, Series 2005. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved to send out Ordinance No. 1476, Series 2005 for <br />publication and set a public hearing for September 6, 2005. Council member <br />Brown seconded the motion. All in favor. <br /> <br />UPDATE - LIBRARY PROJECT <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Boyd updated Council on the progress of the new library. <br />City Manager Simmons reported Staff members will do site visits on two facilities. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk inquired as to the new parking signage in the downtown area. <br />Deputy City Manager Boyd and Public Works Director Phare informed Council as <br />to the placement on new signs at the alley behind City Hall on Spruce; the <br />existing sign on the alley behind City Hall at Pine; and informational signs at the <br />Land Management Building, indicating public parking spaces behind that facility. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />In the City Attorney's absence, City Manager Simmons reported on Joshua A. <br />Penman V. City of Boulder Et AI., Case No. 03-MK-2108 (Mjw), U.S. District <br />Court for the District of Colorado case. He requested authorization to execute a <br />settlement and release agreement. The City's insurance will make payment on <br />the settlement agreement for the City's portion. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Van Pelt moved to authorize the City Attorney to <br />execute a settlement and release agreement in the Joshua A. Penman Case, <br />seconded by Council member Brown. Roll call vote was taken.
