<br />VI.Meeting Location for 2012—HFAB will meet in the first-floor meeting room at the <br />Louisville Public Library, on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm. Meeting <br />agendas will be posted at the Library, City Hall, Recreation /Senior Center, Police <br />Dept, and on the City website. <br />VII.“Livable Cities” presentation—Mary Ann Heaney of the Louisville Sustainability <br />Advisory Board discussed the Livable Cities concept, an idea originating over 40 years <br />ago, in which cities put people first by reshaping the built environment. She explained <br />that many opportunities exist for Louisville, particularly in the areas of connecting <br />existing paths, increasing urban gardening areas, increasing public spaces, and <br />embedding livable city principles in planning for development and improvements. <br />Members agreed that HFAB would like to be kept informed of LSAB’s efforts in this <br />area—Mike will call Mary Ann to discuss. <br />Discussion of Bloomin’ Seniors, refurbishment of Rec Center gardens and raised beds. <br />VIII.Election of HFAB officers for 2012—Reelection of current officers was unanimously <br />approved: Chair—Mike Frontczak; Vice-chair—Theresa Rounds; Secretary—Ellen <br />Toon. <br />IX.Update on Gateway entry signs—North entry sign (Hwy 42 at Paschal Drive) was <br />installed the last week of December 2011. <br />X.Update on Arboretum Pergola Landscape—Current plans will be finalized soon, with <br />bid process and construction anticipated for summer and fall of 2012. <br />Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 7:00 pm <br />XI.Discussion items for next meeting, —Library <br />talks (Jim Ord and Carol O’Meara); Arbor Day; fundraising projects; Facebook demo <br />by Matt. <br />XII.The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm. <br /> <br />·· <br />Parks and Recreation Department 749 Main Street Louisville, CO 80027 <br />· <br />(303) 335-4735 FAX (303) 335-4738 <br />www.louisvilleco.gov <br />Parks Recreation Senior Services O <br /> <br />
