Planning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 22, 2012 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br />Mary Nickerson, 2367 Senator Court, stated she likes the Russian Olive trees and <br />would like to see them kept. She asked who owns the rest of the shopping center. <br />She stated she did not like the 3-4 story concept. <br />Lipton replied the shopping center is owned by four (4) other individuals. <br />Summary Comments and Request from Staff and Applicant: <br />None heard. <br />Closed Public Hearing – Planning Commission Discussion: <br />All of the present Commissioners stated their support for accepting the resolution of <br />denial as amended. Tengler was absent and O’Connell abstained from comment. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Russell moved and Moline seconded a motion to approve Resolution No. 1, Series <br />2012 a resolution recommending denial of a preliminary plat, preliminary planned unit <br />development (PUD), and special review use (SRU) to permit the construction of five <br />(5) buildings, three (3) of which will be contained a total of 180 apartment units and <br />structured parking, and two (2) of which contain 10,000 square feet of retail <br />development, on Tract One of the Louisville North, Filing7 Subdivision located at 707 <br />E. The discussion focused on: 1) Introduction and Overview, 2) <br />Community Values Exercise, 3) Comprehensive Planning 101 and New challenges <br />and 4) Community Feedback and Dot exercise. <br />Topic #1 included a discussion of why review and update. Russ stated places evolve, <br />policies need continual alignment, changes should reflect our values and the LMC <br />requires an update every 4-years. <br />Russ introduced the Envision Louisville web site and how it provides an interactive <br />response to comments and suggestions. <br />The following planning process was reviewed: <br />
