Louisville City Council Meeting <br />February 6, 2001 <br />Page 4. <br /> <br />Davidson addressed the open space and fishing pond issues. With respect to public <br />notice, he stated that the City spent over $1,000 last month alone on publishing notices of <br />public meetings. He stated that several meetings were held on this issue. He noted that <br />Council and Planning Commission meetings are televised and are open to the public. He <br />stated that the Open Space Master Plan is available in the Library for anyone to review. <br />He agreed that posting a sign on future sites is a good idea. He stated that the main <br />reason wildlife is being removed is because of the growing population and the need for <br />housing. <br /> <br />Mayer stated that there are a number of discrepancies concerning the project based on <br />what he has heard from citizens and Staff. He asked the City Administrator toqnvestigate <br />those issues and make the CoUncil aware of those discrepancies. He stated that he would <br />like to know what wildlife was impacted. <br /> <br />City Administrator Bill Simmons stated that the project time-line is dated from June of <br />1997 through the end of 2000. He stated that Staff performed a site inspection and noted <br />the removal of trees. He noted that the City is aware that there is an active coyote den in <br />the vicinity, however to the best of the City's knowledge, there is not a coyote den within <br />the construction area. <br /> <br />Levihn commented that his neighbors watch every City Council and Planning <br />Commission Meeting and are very involved in the community. After the Ward and <br />Mayor's meeting, their response to the concerns voiced by those in attendance was that <br />more people should be watching the meetings on TV to be informed on what's happening <br />in their community. <br /> <br />He reported that he attended the Eldorado Springs Water Bottling ground-breaking <br />ceremony and that they complimented City Administration and the Planning Department. <br />Representatives of Eldorado Springs Bottling told him that they were very pleased with <br />the City process. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE BOARD & COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Davidson announced the appointments for various City Board and Commission <br />vacancies. <br /> <br /> <br />
