City Council
Meeting Minutes
November 5, 2012
Council member Jasiak noted Facility Manager Szabados supports the energy audit.
She explained as Liaison to the Sustainability Board, she did not know how to bring this
request to the City Council's attention. She felt the audit would be beneficial to the City
and voiced her respect for the staff members who support the audit.
Council member Yarnell requested clarification on the motion. Mayor Muckle explained
the motion is to remove the UC Denver Energy Assessment from the 2013 budget. A
yes vote would remove the energy audit from the budget.
Mayor Pro Tem Dalton stated his motion was not in any way intended to denigrate the
work of the Sustainability Board or the work David Szabados does for the City. He
explained this is solely a budget matter and stated this money could be applied to items
already in the budget.
Mayor Muckle stated the energy audit would be consistent with the Council's goal of
sustainability. He noted this audit would be at a low one-time cost and putting it off
would cost the City much more money.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Janet Somerville, 490 Lincoln Court, Louisville, CO stated a question of this study was
not included in the citizen survey. She and her neighbors are in favor of the study. She
urged Council to take the opportunity to help the citizens reduce their carbon footprint.
Mayor Muckle closed the public hearing for the 2013 Proposed Budget and the 2013-
2017 Capital Improvements.
ROLL CALL VOTE: The motion passed by a vote of 4-3. Mayor Muckle and Council
members Yarnell and Jasiak voted no.
RESOLUTION No. 71, SERIES 2012 —A RESOLUTION SUMMARIZING
EXPENDITURES AND REVENUES FOR EACH FUND AND ADOPTING A BUDGET
FOR THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO, FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR
BEGINNING ON THE FIRST DAY OF JANUARY 2013 AND ENDING ON THE LAST
DAY OF DECEMBER 2013
MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Dalton moved to approve Resolution No. 71, Series 2012, as
amended, seconded by Council member Keany. Roll call vote was taken. The
motion carried by a vote of 7-0.
RESOLUTION No. 72, SERIES 2012—ANNUAL APPROPRIATION RESOLUTION
FOR THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR BEGINNING
JANUARY 1, 2013 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2013
