Louisville City Council Meeting May 15, 2001 Page 3 offered a senior discount. He suggested to Ms. Lejuste and to Council that AT&T Broadband meet with Council to discuss proposed increases. Sisk reported that the Louisville Recreation Center has already exhausted their 2001 heating fuel budget~ He suggested that the City take a pro-active role in energy conservation. REGULAR BUSINESS RECOGNITION OF DIANNE SHANKS Mayor Davidson recognized Dianne Shanks for her contributions to the Louisville Housing Authority. He stated that Ms. Shanks has served on the Louisville Housing Authority since 1992, and as Chair since 1994. Ms. Shanks submitted her resignation from the Louisville Housing Authority to accept a position with the Boulder County Housing Authority. In recognition of her nine years of volunteer service, the Mayor and City Council presented her with a gift certificate to Karen's in the Country Restaurant. Dianne Shanks thanked the Mayor and City Council for the opportunity to serve on the Louisville Housing Authority. She offered her best wishes to the Louisville Housing Authority and to the City Council. Mayer noted that, in addition to her volunteered service on the Louisville Housing Authority, Ms. Shanks also provided events for the City of Louisville and served on the Resource Conservation Committee and with Resource 2000. Mayer thanked Dianne Shanks for all her contributions to the City of Louisville and Boulder County. PROCLAMATION - NATIONAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION WEEK - MAY 13-19, 2001 Mayor Davidson read the proclamation proclaiming the week of May 13-19, 2001, as National Historic Preservation Week in the City of Louisville. Members of the Historical Commission strongly support preservation efforts in Louisville's Old town district, and encourage all residents to visit the Louisville Historical Museum to learn more about the unique and interesting history of Louisville. Davidson presented the proclamation to Historical Commission Vice-Chairperson Virginia Caranci. Virginia Caranci accepted the proclamation on behalf of the Historical Commission. She thanked the Council for their continued support.
