Louisville City Council Meeting
September 4, 2001
Page 3

Sisk voiced his belief that the rumor about churches is untrue. He stated that Council has
always been very receptive and supportive to new churches. He noted that there might be
other issues of concern such as parking, as would be with any development, however the
City of Louisville welcomes new churches.

Mayer asked Mr. Johns to be more specific about a particular incident or what church
was involved.

Johns declined to comment on the particular source or the church. He stated, however,
that supposedly a Planning Department Staff person told a member of his church that the
City of Louisville would not support a new church, and that the Planning Commission
process would be difficult.

Mayer stated that he could not imagine a problem if a church purchased land and came
forward with a proposed plan that meets the City's guidelines. He noted that it would be
a completely separate matter if there were a situation where more than a church is
proposed in the overall land development.

COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON
THE AGENDA

Brown thanked Eli and Roger Cabbage for assembling the parade and numerous other
events. He stated that it was a successful Fall Festival Celebration and a special time in
Louisville. He thanked all the volunteers.

REGULAR BUSINESS

ORDINANCE NO. 1362, SERIES 2001 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN
ANNEXATION, KNOWN AS THE MAURER ANNEXATION, TO THE CITY OF
LOUISVILLE, COLORADO - 2ua Reading - Public Hearing (advertised Daily
Camera July 22, 2001)

ORDINANCE NO. 1363, SERIES 2001 - AN ORDINANCE ZONING PROPERTY
ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE AND KNOWN AS THE MAURER
ANNEXATION - 2ua Reading - Public Hearing (advertised Daily Camera July 22,
2001)

Sisk called for Attorney introduction.

City Attorney Sam Light read Ordinances Nos. 1362 and 1363, Series 2001.
