Louisville City Council Meeting <br />October 16, 2001 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />CONTRIBUTION REQUEST FOR MEALS ON WHEELS <br /> <br />Sisk reported on the Finance Committee meeting, where a special request was made by <br />Meals on Wheels, for consideration of immediate assistance of $2,000. Sisk stated that <br />Meals on Wheels prepares and delivers meals in Louisville and is currently very short on <br />funds. Sisk stated that Finance Director Dianne Ray has determined that there are <br />sufficient funds to make the $2,000 contribution. <br /> <br />Finance Director Ray stated that the funding would be from the contribution budget line <br />item. <br /> <br />MOTION: Sisk moved that Council approve a $2,000 contribution to Meals on Wheels, <br />seconded by Davidson. <br /> <br />Davidson stated that Meals on Wheels is a very valuable service. <br /> <br />Sisk reported that almost 2,000 meals were served between January and August to <br />Louisville residents. <br /> <br />VOTE: Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 6-0. Mayer - absent. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORT <br /> <br />City Attorney Light reported that on October 1, 2001, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a <br />ruling stating that they would not consider the Plaintiffs appeal in the Paradise Lane <br />litigation. Light stated that the ruling will finally bring the litigation to a close. <br /> <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT <br /> <br />City Administrator Bill Simmons reported that the Facility Committee is working on the <br />Police Department Complex at Via Appia and McCaslin. He stated that at their last <br />meeting, the committee requested that three firms provide additional information and <br />resubmit their proposals on the basis that a single firm could do all the work, rather than <br />have an architectural and site plan done by two different firms. He noted that the field has <br />been narrowed down to three. He stated that the Facility Committee is scheduled to <br />meet on Thursday, October 18, 2001. <br /> <br />Simmons reminded Council of the budget work session on Tuesday, October 23, 2001, in <br />the Library Conference Room at 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
