Louisville City Council Meeting <br />May 7, 2002 <br />Page 16 <br /> <br />Simmons reported that the City received a community assessment report from the Latino <br />Task Force of Boulder County. Simmons explained that part of their recommendation <br />was that each jurisdiction form a Latino Community Advisory Board. They have <br />requested time to review the report at a regular Council meeting. <br /> <br />Davidson requested data from the census to determine the Latino population in <br />Louisville. <br /> <br />Sisk suggested that the Latino Task Force of Boulder County be invited to speak to the <br />Council. Brown concurred. <br /> <br />Simmons reviewed future Council meeting agenda items. <br /> Council Meeting - May 21, 2002 Council Meeting - Presentation Library Needs <br /> Assessment and the Senior Center Needs Assessment update. <br /> <br />Davidson suggested that neighborhood meetings should be conducted prior to any <br />decisions being made on the location of the Library. <br /> <br />Brown concurred with Mayor Davidson, however stressed the importance of having the <br />costs thoroughly investigated. <br /> <br />Keany asked for Council discussion on the sites for the Library. He stated that he did not <br />have enough information to decide on the site best suited for the Library. <br /> <br />Sisk stated that a discussion can be held, but stressed the importance of making a decision <br />and suggested a public meeting prior to the May 21, 2002 Council meeting. <br /> <br />Keany stated that he has had discussions with the Library Director relative to his <br />concerns about the sites. <br /> <br />Van Pelt concurred that it is important to have a public meeting before May 21, 2002. <br /> <br />Sisk suggested having a public meeting before the Ward II meeting. <br /> <br />There was a consensus to have a public meeting on the Library site on Wednesday, May <br />15, 2002, at 6:00 p.m. prior the Ward II meeting. <br /> <br />Simmons reported that Staff has interviewed three engineering firms to design the <br />Highway 42/96th Street Connection. <br /> <br />Simmons reported that the new Deputy City Manager would be visiting the City of <br />Louisville on May 8, 2002. <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br /> <br />
