Louisville City Council Meeting <br />September 3, 2002 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Davidson concurred with the comments of other Council members, and congratulated <br />Elle Cabbage for the success of the Fall Festival, and the Downtown Business <br />Association for the Street Fare. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION - SEPTEMBER 11, A DAY TO REMEMBER <br /> <br />Davidson read the proclamation - September 11, 2002 A Day to Remember. The City of <br />Louisville, the Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion Post No. 111 will host a <br />September 11 Ceremony to commemorate the victims of last September 11. The event <br />will be Wednesday, September 11, at noon, in Memory Square Park. Davidson declared <br />September 11, 2002 "A Day to Remember" in Louisville. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION - LATINO TASK FORCE <br /> <br />Davidson called for a presentation from the Latino Task Force. <br /> <br />Caroline Gonzales, Community Relations Coordinator for the City of Longmont, <br />Colorado, presented a video of the Latino Community of Boulder County. She thanked <br />Council for inviting her to address Latino issues. She explained that the Latino Task <br />Force of Boulder County was formed to determine the growing Latino population's needs <br />in Boulder County. In October 2001, the Task Force released a report on the study, <br />partly funded by Boulder County, Longmont and Boulder. She noted that the report is <br />significant for all communities in Boulder County. She requested that Council invite the <br />Latino Task Force to a work session to discuss the recommendations of the study. <br /> <br />Mayer thanked Gonzales for presenting the information. He noted that Louisville does <br />not provide direct service to the Latino community, but contributes through Social <br />services agencies. He stated that the City would welcome any information that the Latino <br />Task Force could provide. <br /> <br />Sisk thanked Gonzales for bringing the issue to Council's attention and asked for a copy <br />of the video for use on the City's government access channel. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1398, SERIES 2002 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE <br />VACATION OF CERTAIN EASEMENTS AND STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />WITHIN THE HEALTH PARK SUBDIVISION - public hearing (advertised Daily <br />Camera 8/24/02) <br /> <br />Davidson called for City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Sam Light read Ordinance No. 1398, Series 2002. <br /> <br /> <br />
