Louisville City Council Meeting <br />October 15, 2002 <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />Simmons noted that the property owners have accepted the City's purchase offer <br />contingent upon approval by the Louisville voters of Ballot Issue 2A at the November 5, <br />2002 municipal election. He noted that, although there are some details to be worked out <br />as part of the purchase agreement, it is anticipated that these will be resolved prior to the <br />November 6, 2002 Council meeting, when Council will consider the first reading of the <br />ordinance making the final determination of the property. The second reading is <br />scheduled for the November 19, 2002 City Council meeting. Simmons stated that the <br />proposed purchase price is one million dollars. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Sisk stated his understanding that the first reading of the purchase agreement would be on <br />November 6, 2002, and second reading on November 19, 2002. He thanked City <br />Manager Simmons and Realtor Steve Anderson for their work in the negotiations. <br /> <br />MOTION: Davidson moved that Council authorize publication of the Final <br />Determination as to the Purchase of Real Estate, seconded by Sisk. All in favor. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />Simmons reminded Council of the October 22, 2002 study session. Agenda items <br />include: <br /> · Motorized Scooters <br /> · Final Draft of the Waste Hauling RFP <br /> · Water Rates <br /> 2003 Budget <br /> <br />Simmons reported that the November 6, 2002, Council regular meeting agenda items <br />would include a first reading of the ordinance for community investment fee. He stated <br />that a date would be determined to meet with the interested parties prior to first reading. <br /> <br />Davidson voiced his opinion that it would not be appropriate to meet with interested <br />parties until after first reading. There was Council consensus. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Keany reported on the formation of the Youth Advisory Board. He announced the <br />Board's first meeting would be the 1 st Thursday of November, in the Louisville City <br />Council Chambers. Thereafter, the Board will meet on the 1 st Thursday of every month. <br />Mandy Balzarini, from the Louisville Recreation Department, is currently calling school <br />principals, and getting names of representatives. <br /> <br /> <br />
