r <br /> LOUISVILLE ARTS& HUMANITIES COUNCIL <br /> Meeting Minutes from November 21, 1991 <br /> ATTENDING: John Hansen, Joanne Lyman, Peter Stewart with Mary <br /> ' O'Brien substituting as secretary and Carolyn Markham presiding. <br /> GUESTS: John Eifler, Steve Baysinger, Pasco Scarpella, Carrie <br /> ' Balch, Rick Hays <br /> MINUTES: The minutes were read and approved. <br /> ' TREASURERS REPORT: Checking account balance - $266.31. Money <br /> market account - $15,960.25. Account breakdown: LAHC Administra- <br /> tive - 1 ,016.86, Recreation Center - $2,209.70, SCFD grants for <br /> ' 1992 - $10,000, SCFD 1991 Young Peoples Concert - $3,000. <br /> The following bills were presented. Mary presented bills for the <br /> ' piano recital. Two bills from Centennial Printing will be checked <br /> by Carolyn and Peter to determine what they are for. <br /> The bill that we mistakenly paid for advertizing in August should <br /> have been paid by the Art Association. Carolyn will contact the <br /> LAA for reimbursement. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE: The Chamber of Commerce appointed Theresa Beers <br /> to the Building Committee. The Historical Commission appointed <br /> Virginia Caranci to the Building Committee. AHAB sent a letter to <br /> request representation from our group to a meeting regarding a <br /> Community Arts Survey, tentatively scheduled for December 14, 1:00 <br /> - 4:00 P.M. John Hansen and Joanne expressed interest in attending <br /> if they have no other conflicts. ASCAP sent another letter to <br /> which Peter will reply. John Eifler submitted a list of executive <br /> officers and the bylaws of the International Creative Marquetry <br /> Society (ICMS. ) The IRS wants proof of our non-profit status. <br /> ' Carolyn will take care of sending this. <br /> CHAIRPERSONS REPORT <br /> Response to concerns raised by Pasco Scarpella: Annette Brand <br /> asked the Council to discuss a letter by Pasco Scarpella and to <br /> formulate a response which would be written by Carolyn Markham and <br /> submitted to Annette Brand on the next day. The Council agreed <br /> that the concerns should be answered as follows. <br /> 1. Concern: The LAHC has not disbursed the 1992 SCFD funds <br /> in a timely manner since the funds need to be spent by <br /> December, 1991 . <br /> Response: the funds cannot be disbursed until January <br /> 1 , 1992. They may be used through December 31, 1992. <br /> 2 . Concern: The treasurer of the LAHC did not return <br /> numerous phone calls from the treasurer of the Coal Creek <br />
