She <br />addressed student enrollment for Louisville Elementary School (LES) and stated they <br />are nearing capacity of 627 students. She felt this development will bring LES over <br />capacity and there is no plan from BVSD on how they will handle the enrollment next <br />year. <br />Kristin Martin, 1433 N. Franklin Court, Louisville, CO shared Ms. Bradley's concerns. <br />She addressed the stark contrast of the overall modern look of the development and the <br />authentic look of downtown. She agreed there should be some consideration for the <br />rooflines and the look of the townhomes. She was also concerned over how this <br />development would affect the enrollment at LES and asked Council to take it into <br />consideration. <br />Karl Becker, 899 Welch Court, Louisville, CO spoke as the Chairperson for the <br />Louisville Revitalization Commission (LRC) and as a resident. He noted the developer <br />has been very receptive of the public comments and very collaborative throughout the <br />process. He felt the collaboration is authentic. The LRC is very supportive of the <br />development. As a citizen, he likes Louisville because of its inclusiveness. He felt <br />diversity happens naturally and change happens all the time. He preferred to work with <br />someone who will work with the citizens. As a citizen, he supported the development. <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Council member Keany inquired whether the Planning Commission expressed any <br />concern with this development or the architecture. He requested the Planning <br />Commission minutes be included in the City Council packets when these development <br />requests come forward. Planning and. Building Safety Director Russ stated there were <br />no public comments. The Planning Commission talked about the density and the use of <br />space, but in general they were very supportive of the project and voted unanimously to <br />recommend approval of the project. <br />Council member Keany asked if the Planning Commission commented on the <br />architecture. Planning and Building Safety Director Russ responded no. <br />Council member Keany noted the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) expressed <br />concern over the architecture on Griffith Street. Planning and Building Safety Director <br />Russ explained they had concern over the mass and scale of the architecture on Griffith <br />Street. They requested it be downsized on Griffith to the alley and then transitioned up <br />from that point. <br />Council member Keany referred to the packet and noted the HPC had concerns with the <br />mass of the architecture and the materials. Although he was in favor of the project and <br />felt it would be a positive addition to the community, he had concern with the <br />architecture on Griffith Street. <br />
