Franklin stated it has been master planned <br />since 1983 and a formal version was approved <br />in 1984 and was amended in 1985. <br />Hornbostel is in support of the work session. <br />Davidson stated that he supports Pena's ideas <br />and is in favor of a work session. <br />Mayor Fauson stated that he was in agreement <br />to explore different options. There could be <br />some state funds maybe looked into. Maybe <br />there would be a trade in land. <br />Tom Hoyt, 75 Manhattan Drive, representing <br />McStain. Asked the council to make a decision <br />on this matter as soon as possible, we have <br />plans to come before the Planning Commission <br />sometime in June or July to develop this <br />land. <br />Mayor Fauson stated he felt staff should <br />explore the options before going into a work <br />session and report back to council. It was <br />also suggested that Pena get back with staff <br />on what he and the neighborhood felt needed <br />to be included at the park. <br />Howard stated he would like to see <br />representatives from all parts of the city or <br />wards involved in this. <br />APPROVAL/DIRECTION - RECREATION CENTER FEES <br />Baysinger gave a brief presentation about the <br />survey that has been done and the fees that <br />have been established for the new recreation <br />center. A fee schedule was presented to the <br />council for approval. I need to know what you <br />feel about the non-resident fees and how we <br />should proceed with the fees. Need some <br />direction on the ages for the fees. Our <br />senior program at the senior center is 55 and <br />we need to know if that is what you want to <br />do for recreation center. Another item of <br />concern is the child care and I would like to <br />come back at the first meeting in May with <br />what we would like to charge for child care <br />in conjunction with using the facility. <br />Ron Leggett, 901 Lincoln Street, asked <br />council to consider the senior age to be 55 <br />for the recreation center.
