approve the settlement with the Campbell's, understanding that no <br />monies that will be paid to the Campbells will come from City <br />funds. Sisk instructed the City Administrator and the Mayor to <br />sign the agreement on behalf of the City. Seconded by Mayer. <br /> <br />Howard: <br /> <br />I wanted to make clear that <br />expenditures for legal fees and the <br />like came from the insurance <br />carrier, not from the City of <br />Louisville. <br /> <br />Roll call was taken. Motion passed by a 7-0 vote. <br /> <br />OT~R REGULAR BUSINESS ITEMS ARISING AFTER PREPARATION OF THE <br />AGENDA <br /> <br />Sisk: <br /> <br />We have some areas of Louisville <br />that do not have telephone service, <br />which has been caused by our growth <br />patterns. It would be helpful for <br />the public to understand what <br />actions are being taken. Paul, this <br />goes to the Building Department, <br />it's important that we do whatever <br />we can to ensure the fact that our <br />citizens know that they are not <br />going to have phone service or that <br />we've put the requisite procedures <br />in place to allow the telephone <br />company to have lines in, so we can <br />avoid this problem in the future. <br /> <br />Annette Brand, City Administrator, stated the status of U.S. West <br />service in our current and future projects in Louisville (SEE <br />ATTACHED). She stated that the Building Official is working with <br />the builders to encourage them to put pressure on the telephone <br />company, also. <br /> <br />Mayer: <br /> <br />Has the City staff contacted the <br />P.U.C.? They are the ones who have <br />jurisdiction in this area. When <br />P.U.C. talks, U.S. West will listen, <br />which might be worthwhile. <br /> <br />Lathrop: <br /> <br />It's U.S. West's problem, not the <br />builder's problem, or the City's <br />fault. U.S. West is behind in <br />installation and providing payers <br />from their facility to the <br />subdivisions. Their present <br />construction schedule calls for the <br />cable to be installed and the <br /> <br /> <br />
