being realistic about what can be done today and <br />what the future holds for us. Szymanski stated, <br />"We have to recognize all the problems, all the <br />disadvantages and also try to look for ways that we <br />can derive some benefit from it and I think that is <br />what this Council i;s trying to do - maximize our <br />benefit from W-470„ when and if it does become a <br />reality, and to minimize the adverse effect that we <br />will have." "We will do our best to address all <br />those issues..." <br />Carnival stated that there is not doubt in his <br />mind that there is a need for W-470 citing the <br />traffic load on U.S. 36 to Denver. Alignment is <br />an issue and clear ,advantages/disadvantages don't <br />seem apparent to Carnival. The financing is an <br />issue that the Authority is sensitive to <br />especially to this <~rea. Carnival assured the <br />residents that Council is also sensitive to these <br />issues and will deal with them in the best way <br />possible. <br />Scarpella stated that he still has many questions <br />as stated by Counci]L and residents. He assured <br />everyone that beforE~ making decisions regarding <br />the different aspects of the project, he will <br />study the issues vex-y carefully. Scarpella <br />concurred that therE~ is a real need for W-470. <br />Mayor Fauson stated, "I will try not be redundant <br />or try to summarize what was said here tonight, <br />but I believe that your questions and comments <br />tonight were very hE~lpful to this Council and I <br />assure you that Council will listen and try to get <br />some of those answers back to you." Mayor Fauson <br />commended Mohr for his diligence in reporting the <br />efforts of the Authority and the findings of the <br />various studies cond'.ucted by the Authority. "We are <br />not going to make any decisions here tonight or take <br />any vote on any one issue, but when we do, these <br />comments that you have made tonight will help us <br />make those decisions," Mayor Fauson stated. <br />RECESS Mayor Fauson closed the public hearing and called a <br />ten minute recess at 9:15 p.m. <br />Mayor Fauson called the meeting back to order and <br />continued with Regular Business. <br />ORDINANCE #944 - SPRUCE STREET LTD AND JAMES LEACH ANNEXATION - <br />PUBLIC HEARING Rautenstraus read by title only Ordinance #944, "An <br />Ordinance annexing to the City of Louisville, <br />Colorado, a parcel of property of approximately .175 <br />acres located adjacent to Spruce Lane which is owned <br />by Spruce Street Joseph LTD and James Leach." <br />7 <br />
