Mayor Meier moved that Park Construction Company be awarded the Harper Lake Project bid of $2,094,000. Morris seconded and the motion was passed unanimously. RECESS Mayor Meier called for a 10 minute recess at 8:32 p.m. CONSTRUCTION OF ~~ CITY SHOPS Hioco addressed Council showing a site plan for the City Shops area including potential building sites of a new facility and a building design for the proposed maintenance facility. Staff recommended that Council discuss this item have Planning Commission review the site and building plans at their March 12 meeting, and then have the commission send their recommendations back to Council for the :March 21 Council Meeting for further discussion and recommendations. The current park's facility must be vacated thi..s . month as it is on Homart property and Homart i.s now developing this area. They are moving to the City's shop location on Empire Road. Rob Cassady of Hillhouse Associates was available to` comment as he helped Hioco put the plans together. Hillhouse Associates was put under contract early in :1984 by Mr. Karl Kasch, the Public Works Director at that time. Asti-Caranci related that the City had received a quote from Jinco Leasing for Phase I in the amount of $250,000 on a `i-year lease at 9.51 interest rate with a monthly payment of $5,252.03 for 60 months, for a total of $315,121.80 or $63,000 annually. The entire project, $400,000, on a 5- year lease at 9.~4~ interest rate would have a monthly payment ofd $8,362.46 for a total of $501,747.60 or $100,350 annually. The water and sewer fund are to pay a portion of the cost of this project (budgeted in 1985) with $31,000 coming from. each of the two funds as tk~e water and sewer departments will utilize a portion of the shops. There is also money in the CIP fund for this project. 6
