Davidson:

Tom, since it's your easements, does
it add any difficulty for the City?

Tom Phare, Director of Public Works.

Phare:

Davidson:

I think it would present problems.
I would make an easement where we
would have access. Placement of
fencing, landscaping, sprinkler
systems, whatever may be installed
there, would be close enough to
utility lines to be impacted.

Steve, do we have other sidewalks in
other areas that have a 2-3 ft.
setback from each side of the
sidewalk?

Steve Baysinger, Director of Parks & Recreation.

Baysinger:

I believe we have in some, it's not
real consistent.

Davidson:

Phare:

Tom, does the City have an easement
through there?

I don't believe the City does.
There might be gas and electric
easements along the edge of the lot
lines

Davidson:

I've walked back to look at the
property and it is not open space,
it's just a piece of land the City
happens to own. If there is some
way to handle the problem of the
easement issue along the sidewalk, I
wouldn't have any problem with the
sale.

Hornbostel:

I'm uncomfortable with all of the
transactions that have to be made in
terms of buying the property, in
terms of making sure everyone is
satisfied. I lean more toward the
"adopt a strip", because it has more
"lifetime" to it.

Lin:

The property transfers could be
recorded with sufficient legalese to
ensure that the easements do
transfer with the properties as the
