developers to get a little creative. <br />How will this development benefit <br />the economic structure and the <br />infrastructure in Louisville? How <br />is it going to benefit the schools? <br />Why not build a shuttle service or a <br />mass transit? How is it ecological? <br />How does it affect the water? <br /> <br />Steve Tracy, owner of part of the land, stated that he has made a <br />potential contract with the developers. He has been here since <br />1972 and remembers the time when the need was there for Coal Creek <br />School. He used to farm that ground (1,200 acres). When the <br />houses came in the red foxes left, the pheasants left, the <br />asparagus rows along irrigation ditches left, and the deer left. <br />The open space theory has moved outside of the city limits. Coal <br />Creek School and Fireside School were not built until there was a <br />need. He doesn't think there will be another school built until <br />there is a need. He felt that we have to prove to the School Board <br />that there is a need. It's all of our responsibility. We have to <br />put the pressure on the School Board to get the job done. This was <br />agricultural ground, cattle, and horses. Stan had sheep. At this <br />point in time, they are finding a real incompatibility with the <br />agricultural ground and the residents. People from the apartments <br />come over to pet the animals without realizing the animals bite and <br />can be dangerous. Stan Moore has a 6 ft. fence around his barn <br />because the dogs from the neighborhood jump in. One day Mr. Moore <br />went over to Mr. Tracy's house to check Mr. Tracy's dog because 25 <br />lambs had been chased and were killed or maimed by domestic dogs. <br />That's a problem. One day they were irrigating our ground to grow <br />the grass and the main pipe plugged off down by the golf course and <br />all of the water came out onto Mr. Tracy's. All of a sudden Coal <br />Creek Ranch had foundations full of water. Bellock was upset. <br />Everyone wants to keep the open space, but they as the open space <br />owners are getting pushed out of it just because of the liability. <br />It's not compatible to have agricultural land zoning within a city <br />like this.
