Louisville City Council Meeting <br />March 16, 2004 <br />Page 3 of 10 <br /> <br />Boy Scout Troop 63 suggested a flashing light pedestrian crosswalk signs be installed to <br />signal drivers that there are pedestrians present. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk thanked the Scouts for their recommendation. He explained the City is <br />currently conducting a study on the intersections outlined by Troop 63, and their letter of <br />concern and recommendation will be placed in the file. <br /> <br />Council member Keany recognized the DeVilbiss's for being honored for their <br />volunteerism. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Council member Don Brown reported he would attend a meeting on March 17, with the <br />House Transportation and Energy Committee, where transportation allocation will be <br />discussed. <br /> <br />Council member Jay Keany reminded Council and the public of the Downtown Business <br />Association's St. Patrick's Day Celebration at the Steinbaugh Pavilion. <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons reported that Louisville would be recognized by DRCOG at <br />an awards ceremony on April 14, 2003. The City of Louisville and other entities in <br />Boulder County will receive a 3rd place award for the Watershed Approach to Stream <br />Health project, and a 1st place award for the Boulder County Super IGA. Mayor Sisk <br />stated former Mayor Davidson has been invited to accept the award of behalf of the City. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />PRESENTATION -NATIONAL AWARD FROM AMERICANS FOR NON- <br /> SMOKER'S RIGHTS <br /> <br />Members of the Monarch High School Youth Tobacco Coalition presented the Americans <br />for Nonsmokers'Rights 100% Smokefree Award of Excellence to the Mayor and City <br />Council. Members of the coalition included: Brian Roth, Colette Crane, Marsha Frenkel, <br />Phi Pham, Mark Robinson, Cassie Thill, Austin Wubbens, Olivia Forward, Abby Berger, <br />Katie Mickel and Bela Mohapatra. Kimberly Hills, Boulder County Health Department <br />Tobacco Education & Prevention Partnership was also in attendance. Monarch High <br />School students Brian Roth, Austin Wuibbens, Bela Mohaptra presented the award to <br />Mayor Sisk. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS TO THE HORTICULTURE & FORESTRY ADVISORY <br /> BOARD <br /> <br /> <br />
