The Louisville <br />Revitalization Commission (LRC) recommended approval of the plan at its April <br />14th meeting and forwarded to Council for final action. The Action Plan includes <br />the following elements: <br />1. Amendment of 2005 Comprehensive Plan <br />2. Implementation of Hwy 42 zoning and land use design standards <br />3. Transportation Planninig <br />4. Environmental Planning <br />5. Northwest Rail Corridor Planning <br />6. Market Analysis <br />7. Development Coordination <br />COUNCIL COMMENT <br />Councilor Sackett reported citizens would like the area to blend with the rest of <br />downtown. He addressed thE: lack of parking on the west side and felt it was <br />lacking in the plan. <br />Councilor Muckle agreed with Councilor Sackett and addressed the amendment <br />of the Comprehensive Plan and suggested striking paragraphs A and D. <br />Councilor Clabots concurred with striking paragraph D. <br />Mayor Sisk supported expanding commercial and residential areas downtown. <br />Councilor Dalton noted Council just passed a Business Assistance Package on a <br />downtown project, which provides for commercial office and residential units. <br />DISCUSSION /DIRECTION /ACTION - 2008 LOUISVILLE CITIZEN SURVEY <br />City Manager Fleming apologized for a recent newspaper article in which he <br />quoted as saying "that one of the goals of the survey was to get a broad cross- <br />section of opinions and not just from the people who attend the public meetings." <br />He apologized for saying "Holt just", when he meant to say "in addition to". He did <br />not mean to minimize the importance of the public participation at meetings. <br />He explained the survey is a gauge of community opinion on a broad range of <br />issues; and based on the 2004 edition as it relates to satisfaction of services. A <br />number of policy questions have been asked relating to current topics of interest. <br />The survey was discussed at the April 22"d study session and revisions that were <br />made to include modifications to questions #17, #20, #22 and #23, removal of <br />the use tax question and replacement with a historic preservation tax questions <br />and removal of two previous questions regarding healthy/active living and <br />household income. The survey is scheduled to be mailed on May 29th. The final <br />results will be released durinc~ the month of August. <br />
