City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 20, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 11 <br />The City of Louisville recognized Glen Turner for his accomplishment in <br />completing a transcontinental run across America of 4,233 kilometers in 37 days. <br />Glen has been a great inspiration for the health and wellness of our community. <br />Mayor Sisk presented Mr. Turner with a proclamation. <br />Mr. Turner reported he had children running with him along the way and enjoyed <br />the challenge, meeting people and representing Louisville. <br />PRESENTATION -LIFE IN LOUISVILLE PHOTO CONTEST <br />Public Relations Manager Muth stated the City of Louisville has created a new <br />"Life in Louisville" photography competition. Digital or scanned entries capturing <br />the essence of "Life in Louisville" will be showcased and added to a collection <br />documenting Louisville, its residents, visitors, events, and all around lifestyle. <br />The competition aims to help preserve images and reminders of Louisville for <br />future generations. The average citizen's idea of what "Life in Louisville" is will be <br />an invaluable historical asset to this and future generations. Three categories <br />will be awarded: amateur, student aind professional. The winner's photos will <br />appear on the City's website, in the City Hall, Library and the Recreation Center. <br />Council was asked to provide someone to sit on the jury. Mayor Pro Tem <br />Marsella volunteered to perform that task. Ms. Muth reported applications are <br />available on the website and at City facilities with a deadline of July 11 and <br />encouraged all to enter. <br />RESOLUTION No. 20, SERIES 2008 - A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN <br />AMENDMENT TO CONSERVATION EASEMENTS IN GROSS AND A <br />TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION EASMENT OVER THE TRILLIUM OPEN <br />SPACE PROPERTY FOR THE DILLON ROAD PROJECT <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation. <br />Public Works Director Phare explained Public Works has been working with <br />Boulder County Open Space to acquire right-of-way from the Trillium Open <br />Space for the City's Dillon Road Project. The IGA Executed between the City of <br />Louisville and Boulder County allows for the dedication of right-of-way from the <br />Trillium Open Space for improvements on Dillon Road. Specifically, the City will <br />acquire a total of 92,700 square feet and the acquisition includes fee title to <br />portions of the existing Dillon Road right-of--way adjacent to the Trillium Open <br />Space. Boulder County Open Space has also agreed to grant the City of <br />Louisville a ten foot temporary construction easement within the Trillium Open <br />Space for the contractor. The temporary construction easement is necessary in <br />order to allow the contractor to relocate the open space fence and provide <br />additional area for the installation of the storm drain pipe. <br />
