Louisville City Council Meeting <br />July 20, 2004 <br />Page 4 of 7 <br /> <br />Finance Director Patty Leslie explained Resolution No. 33, Series 2004, amends the 2004 <br />budget for two items as follows: <br /> <br />· Transfer of $28,996 from the unreserved and undesignated fund balance of $2.7 <br /> million in the General Fund to the Conservation Trust - Lottery Fund to cover <br /> additional expenses for the Skateboard Park. <br />· Increase in the 2004 Appropriation of $684,750 in the Conservation Trust- <br /> Lottery Fund by $28,996, bringing the total appropriation in the Fund to <br /> $713,746 to cover expenses in excess of amounts budgeted for the Skateboard <br /> Park. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Keany moved for approval of Resolution No. 33, Series <br />2004, seconded by Council member Brown. Roll call vote was taken. The motion <br />passed by a vote of 7-0. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF CONTRACT WITH ECl SITE CONSTRUCTION <br /> MANAGEMENT FOR 2004 SKATE PARK <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a Staff presentation <br /> <br />Land Management Director Cindy Lair reviewed the bid process for the Skate Park <br />project. The low bid, submitted by ECI Site Construction Management, was <br />recommended to City Council on July 6, 2004, but exceeded available funding for the <br />project. City Council directed Land Management Staff to look at value engineering <br />alternatives and work with the low bidder to re-negotiate their price. As a result of the <br />value engineering and bid negotiation process ECI was able to lower their base bid price <br />from $554,849.53 to $529,140.53. Lair reviewed the ECI Skate Park proposal as follows: <br /> <br />· Base Bid $529,140.53 <br />· Additional Round Steel Coping 6,190.38 <br />· Concrete Coping atPool 2,800.00 <br />· Pool Tile 700.00 <br />· Power to Irrigation Controller instead of Solar 510.00 <br />· Concrete Ad Mix 6,663.00 <br />· Contingency 28,996.00 <br /> <br />Project Total <br /> <br />$575,000.00 <br /> <br />Lair addressed the draining system and explained Staff re-evaluated the system and <br />determined that the draining system is a necessary component of the project to provide <br />the highest quality facility. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
