ORDINANCE NO. 1267, SERIES 1997 - INCREASING THE SEWER TAP FEES IN THE
CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO - 2ND READING - PUBLIC HEARING (PUBL.
LSVL. TIMES 9/6/97)

Light read by title only Ordinance No. 1267, Series 1997, "An ordinance increasing the sewer tap fees
in the City of Louisville, Colorado."

Bill Simmons, City Administrator, stated that in recent Council Worksessions the long term capital
needs of the Wastewater Treatment Plant had been discussed, especially the possible expansion
thereof. Importantly, how to pay for it and the cost thereof. It was determined through an analysis
that sewer tap fees for single family residential should be increased from $2,520 to $2,720 per unit.
Increasing the sewer tap fees will have no detrimental impact to existing sewer utility customers. The
increase will insure that new development will pay an equitable cost for the City sewer system and
will not increase expenses to existing sewer users.

Davidson opened the public hearing and called for anyone wishing to speak on Ordinance No. 1267.

NONE

Davidson closed the public hearing and called for Council comments or motions.

Sisk asked if the commercial tap fees had been addressed.

Simmons stated that it could be look at as they are one-half of the residential water tap fee.

Davidson pointed out that commercial tap fees had been increased substantially previously.

Simmons explained that this is the current cost of tap fees today.

Howard moved that Council adopt Ordinance No. 1267, Series 1997, on second and final reading,
seconded by Levihn.
