City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 16, 2021 <br />Page 5 of 13 <br />Preservation Planner Kim Bauer gave a history of the landmarked house. The Historic <br />Preservation Commission (HPC) approved an alteration certificate for a new addition at <br />the rear of the home and also recommend approval of the grant. <br />Bauer reviewed the work to be completed noting which items are for preservation, are <br />rehabilitation, or restoration. Work is expected to be $70,000 and the grant request is for <br />$35,000. <br />Staff recommends approval of the grant request. <br />Public Comments — None. <br />Councilmember Fahey stated she thinks the design proposal for this property is in line <br />with the preservation goals for the City and it nicely rehabilitates many historic features of <br />the house. <br />Mayor Stolzmann closed the public hearing. <br />MOTION: Councilmember Fahey moved to approve Resolution No. 20; Councilmember <br />Dickinson seconded the motion. <br />Councilmember Dickinson stated he feels this rehabilitation is a good use of the fund. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Maloney agreed. <br />Motion passed by unanimous roll call vote. <br />i7�S�r1:7_1►���_1►1�]►�i/_1:�:/1►[�:�:I�'�t�7:�[�>:7X+y=1:�%r�[�7►[r1:7_1��� <br />RESOLUTION NO. 21, SERIES 2021— A RESOLUTION APPROVING A LOCAL <br />LANDMARK DESIGNATION FOR THE LOUISVILLE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH <br />LOCATED AT 701 GRANT AVENUE <br />RESOLUTION NO. 22, SERIES 2021 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING A HISTORIC <br />PRESERVATION FUND GRANT FOR THE LOUISVILLE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH <br />I XOZOY_1% 114I7_VA il14Kel:7_1►111_1TJ 4001 � <br />Mayor Stolzmann opened the public hearing. Mayor Stolzmann introduced the item and <br />asked for disclosures. Councilmember Dickinson stated he lives three houses away from <br />this property; he recused himself and left the meeting. <br />Director Zuccaro reviewed the site and history of this house, a former church, noting this <br />is a request for landmarking and a preservation grant. He reviewed the proposed exterior <br />changes which would restore the original building, demolish the midcentury addition, and <br />add a new addition at the rear of the property.
