Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />18 October 2021 <br />Page 7 of 8 <br />Haley added that they were not able to see the original building in it and there was not enough <br />of the front facade to recreate it. From a national standard perspective, no one would landmark <br />this structure. <br />Dunlap moved to approve the demolition. Burg seconded. Bauer clarified that no stay would be <br />placed. Commissioners confirmed. Motion passed unanimously by roll call vote. <br />600 Lincoln Avenue <br />Staff recommended a finding of probable cause for landmarking. <br />Johnson stated that the architectural integrity was especially good. <br />Haley stated that this was a good application. <br />Burg added that it was well -maintained and there were a number of similar homes in the area. <br />The design elements were high and darling and it was great that the owners wanted to approve <br />it. <br />Dunlap stated that it looked like the kind of property they wanted to see. <br />Keller agreed, and wanted to see this become historic. <br />Burg made a motion to find probable cause and Keller seconded. Motion passed unanimously <br />by roll call vote. <br />621 Lincoln Avenue <br />Staff recommended a finding of probable cause. <br />Caroline Godwin, owner, grew up in Louisville and had two sisters who lived in the area. She <br />wanted to preserve the house as did the previous owners. <br />Haley stated that the structure showed the historic progression of Louisville and added to the <br />diversity of downtown. It had strong architectural integrity, social history, and context. <br />Dunlap stated that small houses in aggregate were important for the community. <br />Burg stated that it had a unique structure and the diversity of homes and styles and eras was a <br />value. <br />Dunlap moved to approve a finding of probable cause. Burg seconded.
