<br />Ken Kreager Case <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION AFTER <br />THE REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF THE CITY <br />1~~ORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S <br />REPORT <br />LILA STUCKER - LEAVE EXTENSION <br />REQUEST <br />APPROVAL <br /> <br />Councilman Leary <br />Personnel Code Be Reviewed <br />on Leave Extension <br /> <br />11/15/83 <br /> <br />Page -5- <br /> <br />inquired if it could be amended on December <br />20th. <br />Attorney Rautenstraus advised that if council <br />wished, on either December 6th or December <br />20th they could move to republish the ordin- <br />ance and continue the public hearing. <br /> <br />Councilmembers had a copy of a memo from <br />City Attorney Rautenstraus relating to this. <br />Attorney Rautenstraus advised that most of <br />the matters would be best discussed in <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />Mayor Meier advised the press that he would <br />talk with them after the session if they <br />desired to wait until after the meeting. <br /> <br />Councilman Leary moved, Councilman Fauson <br />seconded that the Ken Kreager Case be <br />discussed in Executive Session after the <br />meeting. Question called for. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilman Fauson moved, Councilman Cummings <br />seconded that the City Attorney's report <br />be ac cej?ted and placed on file. Question <br />called-for. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilmembers had a copy of Mrs. Stucker's <br />request-for an extension of maternity leave <br />which required council's approval. <br /> <br />Councilman Fauson moved, Councilman Cussen <br />seconded that Lila Stucker's request for <br />extended leave be granted. <br /> <br />Commented that he did not think these type <br />requests were not an appropriate matter <br />for a decision by council. Felt that it <br />was either the person's supervisor, Depart- <br />ment Head, or Administrator Wurl who should <br />make this decision. Inquired if this was <br />a personnel code procedure. <br />Director of Financial Services Asti-Caranci <br />stated that it was a personnel code pro- <br />cedure which states that if the person wishes <br />an extension of leave beyond 2 weeks, it <br />must be approved by council. <br />Councilman Leary suggested that the Personnel <br />Code be reviewed and changing this to approval <br />of the City Administrator. <br />
