Councilman Leary Safety Vote on the Motion PENSION PAYMENT - AUTHORI- ZATION APPROVAL Councilman Leary 9/20/83 Page -10- Inquired if it would be possible in the portion of Pine and 2 blocks south to sit down with the business firms and out- line what is going to be done and get their suggestions as to how to minimize the impact with the construction company during their business hours.. Administrator Wurl advised that sane lengths of pipe had been extended beyond Pine and this problem will not exist hopefully, and the valving that has been installed will permit them to tie in on the end of that pipe. Also, in terms of piles of dirt they will be instructed where these are to be placed, not permit it to be near parking places, etc. Rocky Moun- tain Consultants will be supervising the pro- ject as well as someone from our staff. Director Kasch also advised that the staging will be different this time. Rather than have 2 or 3 blocks torn up this will be done a block at a time to cut down on that interfer- ence. Mayor Meier requested that the proper ~lagmen be on hand to handle the traffic. Director Kasch to assure this will not occur. Councilman Leary requested that a phone number of staff be given the businessmen that will be accessible. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. Councilmembers had a copy of a memo from Director of Financial Services Asti-Caranci of one time payments due some of the city employees from the city pension plan, and the request was for council's approval for payment. Councilman Cussen moved, Councilman Ferrera seconded that one-time payment be authorized for city pension to the employees as listed. Inquired how the list was determined, was it because of a delay in the changeover. Director Asti-Caranci explained some of them because of their age or employment status; and others because of the time of the change- over. Explained that Lawrence Rickman was on the list because of a break in service.
