9/20/83

Page -11-

it gets on line and what our capacity will
be given the building serge we had. We
have had a considerable building serge
higher than we had originally looked at when
we were doing the projections on this it
appears that it may have moved the necessity
of the new plant up somewhat.

Councilman Cussen
Koshier Burrito Sign

Inquired what the status of the Koshier
Burrito sign was - noted that they are open
again.
Director Rupp advised that he had spoken
with Chief Building Inspector Ferris about
this and they had requested an extension
and it runs out the end of September and
must be in compliance by October 1st.
Cussen then asked in the event this is not
done by October 1st, what are our options
as a council? stated
Attorney Rautenstraus/there are 2 or 3 op-
tions and he wished to bring these before
Council and then have them select the option
with which they wish to proceed.

'ees for Coin Operated
Jideo Machines

Requested that the City Attorney look to an
ordinance change in the fees that are being
charged Tor coin operated video machines.
At the time that this ordinance was established
it appeared that it was the
up and coming thing across the country, and
he was not certain that this was the case
now and was wondering if indeed that may be
a hardship upon those establishments that
have a $75.00 fee. Suggested reducing this
fee to $50.00 or does council wish to leave
it as is. Wished council's feeling on this
and would like to have it appear on the agenda
at a later date.
Councilman Leary suggested that perhaps a
sliding scale could be initiated with the
first four machines at a certain rate and
the next eight at a~other rate so that they
don't have quite the impact. But yet tend
to get the revenues from the ones that are
in bars that are big money makers. Felt that
another thing that should be looked at besides
this is whatever sales tax comes from those
places and as everyone knew there was one
police call at the pinball Wizard that might
cost us some money. Still felt it was a
ligitimate fee but was willing to look at it.
