Page -6-

Chuck Romano

This item to be added to the next agenda.

Inquired if Scripps/Howard would offer the
same services as Storer has; will they
formally increase it; and how will they deal
with the cost or services?
Mr. Lyons responded that the cost of services
according to the agreement is set for a period
of 3 years. After that 3 year freeze any
rate structure has to be approved by the
City Council. At this time did not know
if there would be any increases.
As to the amount of services offered -
Advised that they certainly would be increased.

Councilman Leary

Mayor Meier

DR. DAVID HIBBARD

Requested Mr. Romano have a written state-
ment detailing the programs to be offered
by Scripps Howard.

Stated that he was a physician at the Christo-
pher Village Medical Center in Louisville
and wished to formally discuss the Louisville
Therapy Clinic operated by Boulder Memorial
Hospital, located next door to his office.
He felt the physical therapy clinic was a
valued service for all the residents of the
City. At this time Boulder Community Hospi-
tal is putting a tremendous amount of pressure
on Boulder Memorial Hospital to move the
therapy clinic from Louisville to their pro-
posed site in Lafayette. He requested Council
to contact the people that are putting the
pressure on Boulder Memorial Hospital. The
people of Boulder Memorial Hospital stated
to him that they would prefer to stay in
Louisville. He suggested the person to con-
tact was John McFetridge, Executive Director;
urged Council to take a stand on the matter.

Administrator Wurl

Inquired what kind of pressure has Boulder
Community placed on Boulder Memorial?
Dr. Hibbard stated that the relationship between
the 2 hospitals has never been very good.
This comes out of a direct competition and
a direct survival sense, that financially
they both have to make money. What Community
Hospital is saying if in effect Memorial
decides not to join their Lafayette facility
in the underwriting of the cost of the clinic
