<br />Written Argument <br /> <br />Councilman Cussen <br /> <br />APPROVAL <br /> <br />MARSHALL LAKE WATER CONTRACT <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION FOR MAYOR <br />AND CLERK TO SIGN CONTRACT <br /> <br />Councilwoman Morris <br /> <br />Councilman Leary <br /> <br />2/1/83 <br /> <br />Page -7- <br /> <br />Administrator Wurl to verify estimate figures <br />before the meeting. <br /> <br />Councilman Leary suggested that a written <br />argument be presented to the Boulder County <br />Commissioners of the items discussed by <br />Council. <br /> <br />Felt that it was important that Council was <br />unanimous on the vote of the Alternative <br />so that the Boulder County Commissioners <br />would see that we are strongly supportive <br />as a City. <br />Mayor, councilmembers and administrator <br />agreed. <br /> <br />Question called for on the motion. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Councilmembers had a copy of the contract. <br />Administrator '.JurI advised the contract <br />was leasing and optioning 21.6 shares of <br />Marshall Lake W~ter. The request was for <br />authorization for the Mayor and Clerk to <br />sign the contract. <br />Wurl stated thE~ City would have use of the <br />water immediatE~ly and it could be as long <br />as 8 years before the land sale is consum- <br />mated. At that time we would be able to <br />close on the contract. It is one of the <br />largest blocks that the City has been able <br />to purchase at a price lower than previous <br />contracts. <br /> <br />Councilman Cussen moved, Councilman Ferrera <br />seconded that the Mayor and Clerk be author- <br />ized to sign the contract for 21.6 shares <br />Marshall Lake water. <br /> <br />Inquired if this acquisition would effect <br />the size pipeline that is needed? <br />Wurl advised that it would not. <br /> <br />Commented given the different financial <br />arrangement - inquired if there would be <br />any additional costs because of this. <br />Wurl replied - no. Advised that the City <br />would pay the assessment anyway. He further <br />stated the benefit to the seller is through <br />their arrangement with the landowner. <br />
