<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 17, 2009 <br />Page 3 of 7 <br /> <br />· Dillon Road will be closed April 1 through April 3 to enable the railroad to <br />work on the railroad crossing just south of 96th Street. There will be road <br />detours to enable the roadwork. <br />· The City's Long Range Financial Planning Presentations: To date City <br />Manager Fleming has given three presentations. Additional meetings are <br />scheduled for March 19 with the senior citizens; March 30 and April 1, <br />open meetings with the Boards and Commissions; April 2 at the CEO <br />Forum, hosted by GAIAM; April 6 at the Lions Club and April 7 at the <br />Chamber of Commerce. Staff will bring information back to Council. The <br />PowerPoint Presentation is available on the City's Web site. <br /> <br />· The City is advertising for a real estate broker's service for the Post Office <br />site. The deadline to apply is March 31. <br /> <br />· A citizen email requesting information on legislation to permit raising <br />chickens in the City. A number of communities are allowing hens in urban <br />areas. Staff will present information to Council at a future study session. <br /> <br />· City Manager Fleming will be on vacation next week. Parks & Recreation <br />Director Joe Stevens will be Acting City Manager during that timeframe. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 10, SERIES 2009 - A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE <br />JOHN BREAUX MEMORIAL COMMITTEE - ANNOUNCEMENT OF <br />APPOINTMENTS TO THE JOHN BREAUX MEMORIAL COMMITTEE <br /> <br />Public Relations Manager Muth explained the Mayor and Staff received interest <br />from a variety of people wishing to serve on the committee. After reviewing the <br />list, Mayor Sisk appointed the following individuals to the John Breaux Memorial <br />Committee: David/Lori Bright; Danielle Danailof; Audrey DeBarros; Spencer <br />Gutherie, Open Space Advisory Board; Maryan Jaross, Cultural Council; Jay <br />Keany, Chair; Mark Presichetti, Resource Conservation Advisory Board; Nick <br />Stepan, a local boy scout and a Louisville Police Department representative. <br />Additionally, the City Staff is working on a special John Breaux Clean-Up Day to <br />be held on Saturday, May 9th. The event will begin with breakfast at Community <br />Park followed by clean-up activities at specific areas around town. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilor Muckle moved to approve Resolution No. 10, Series 2009, <br />with the addition of a three-month timeframe to make recommendations to <br />Council and the appointment of the committee members, seconded by Councilor <br />Yarnell. All in favor. Absent: Mayor Sisk and Councilor Sackett. <br />
