<br />1/5/82 <br /> <br />Page -4- <br /> <br />AUDIENCE COMllliNTS <br />CHARLES KLARICH <br />SUPERIOR INTERCHANGE <br /> <br />Charles Klarich, Project Coordinator for <br />Jacobs/Kahan & Co. advised that 3 years <br />ago when the property was annexed, their <br />company agreed with the City of Louisville <br />to either improve or reconstruct the Superior <br />Interchange. When the project was initially <br />pursued it was a 3.5 million dollar project. <br />In March of 1981 following the election, <br />negotiations commenced with the State of <br />Colorado regarding the Superior Interchange. <br />The cost escalated from 3.5 million to 5.2 <br />million dollars. Obviously with the partners <br />involved, bascially Homart, which is a <br />subsidiary of Sears, Roebuck & Co., required <br />everyone involved upgrade all the studies <br />relative to the increased costs oi the inter- <br />change. Jim Kurtz-Phalen of the Governor's <br />office advised the companies involved that. <br />the interchange project had to be resolved <br />in the month of January, 1982. He advised <br />that of this date, January 5, 1982 - all <br />of the attorneys for Homart, Jacobs/Kahan, <br />Mr. Kutz-Phalen representing the State of <br />Colorado, Dwight Bower, the District Engineer <br />for the State, Don Kahan, David Stahl and <br />he spent the entire day finalizing the agree- <br />ment. January 6, 1982 in the morning the <br />agreement will go to the Attorney General.' s <br />Office for final processing and they were <br />assured by the Governor's office that the <br />agreement" would be available for council <br />by noon of January 6th or shortly thereafter. <br />He requested that council have a special <br />meeting on January 6, 1982 to review the <br />interchange agreement and an amendment to <br />the annexation agreement. <br /> <br />ADJOURNED MEETING, 1/6/82 <br /> <br />Council agreed to have an adjourned meeting <br />on January 6, 1982 at 7:30 P.H. per Mr. <br />Klarich's request <br /> <br />Councilman Meier <br /> <br />Inquired if the agreement would include the <br />letter of credit. Klarich stated it would. <br /> <br />Councilman Fauson <br /> <br />Asked Attorney Rautenstraus if he would have <br />sufficient time to review the agreement before <br />the meeting. <br />Rautenstrus advised the changes were minor <br />and he would have sufficient time <br />
