Leah says that she does not know the answer and suggests that we talk about <br />it in November or even next year. <br />- Beth asks about the budget increase having been granted as an increase and if <br />we need to do any more advocating at all. Erica says no and that the decision for the <br />increase in budget is pretty official though nothing is in writing. Mark says that he will be <br />at the next meeting of City Council to represent again in case the budget comes up. <br />- Leah also mentions that voting is coming up next month and to be sure to vote in the <br />state election! <br />VII. City Liaison's Report (Erica Schmitt) 15 min <br />up: <br />a. Information Item: Speaking at City Council meetings <br />- Erica commends the involvement of public somment periods. LCC members can <br />speak to the public at these event if an item or topic has been approved by the <br />board. Individual members must say that you are a member fo the LCC but that <br />the item has not been approved or passed. <br />b. Reminder: timeline for LCC and other board applications and resignations is coming <br />- Submit resignations to City Clerk, Meredyth Muth.The City has an annual <br />recruitment process to fill vacancies on all boards and commissions. This year, it <br />opened on October 3, with applications being due by November 10th. Council will <br />review all applications and make appointments in December to start in January. <br />- Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasure all all up for position at the LCC. Lisa is <br />also on a short appointment which there is no clarification. Mark notes that on the <br />chart available to the public of her position's timeline with the LCC she is already <br />expedited. <br />c. Reminder: Open Government Training: No estimated date for this. Sarah is the only <br />one that has attended. Meredith Muth will send an email to remind the remaining LCC <br />members <br />d. Information Item: City Budget process (broad overview) <br />- The City of Louisville follows a two-year budget. Meetings have been happening <br />regularly since March of this year to set the 2023-24 budget. This Monday, City <br />Council had a meeting, which included the public hearing on the Revised <br />Recommended Biennial Budget. In this meeting, we were told that the LCC will <br />receive an additional $20K towards programming, bringing the programming total <br />to $35K. <br />City Council has a final meeting to approve the resolutions to adopt an annual <br />budget, appropriate funds, and levy taxes. This meeting will be in November. The <br />calendar of City Council meetings, as well as recordings of previous meetings, is <br />available on the City Website. <br />
