Eventbrite. Mark says that he submitted to Google the mural to be marked as a "place
marker" on the map.
X. Community Park Summer Concert Update 15 min
a. Information Item: 2023 Summer Concert Subcommittee updates (JR, Beth, Leah)
i. Dates- We have penciled in June 15, June 22, June 29th, July 13t, July 20th.
Sounds like we will be able to do all 5 assuming that we received the extra 20k funding.
ii. Band commitments and prices
iii. Budget considerations- The most that we paid a band this year was $1500.
But the lowest quote that we received was 2k. Groove in Motion is a band that JR knows
who will perform for $1650. A 80s band gave $1800 as a quote. A reggae band said 2k
and Leah asked for $1800 they approved. Leah will double check on the dates that she
proposed for each band.
a. Sound engineer quotes: Beth got a quote form the Third Harmonic who
we have used in the past. Their cost went up by 1 k total. Leah reached out to
another person and he quoted $8,700 (2k more than third harmonic). Leah thinks
that Third Harmonic may be the best option since they know the stage and have
been at the stages before. Leah thinks that spending 15k on the concerts for next
year would be appropriate since Cultural Caravan is technically separate. Leah
moves to move forward with the contracts for bands and music under the 15k.
Mark opposes it because he thinks that there is nothing left for public art. Leah
notes that this amount of money is designated for the concerts and music. No
other disapprovals. Leah does not expect to exceed the 15k. $13740 is what JR
estimates that the correct spend amount is projected.
b. Action Item: Vote on budget for 2023 Summer Concerts - Erica
suggests that we propose it at the next meeting with all the items and cost laid
out. Leah agrees.
XI. Public Art 15 min
a. Information Item: QR code update for McCaslin Underpass (Sarah)
i. Action Item: Vote to approve design of QR code & installation- This can come
out of the Public art or the program budget. Sarah will submit the receipt to Erica. Sarah
makes a motion to approve the design, Beth seconds. No disscents.
b. Information Item: Public Art Subcommittee Update (Keely/Grace) - No update
i. Information Item: Marshall Fire Public Art project Call for Artists- We have all
the jury, 14 total jury members. Friday 28th of October is then the call closes. How many
submissions: 6 so far according to Erica. Keylee says that there is such diversity from
the list of judges.
C. DeLo (mark)- Greg Fields submitted for this space and the LCC agreed to
fund a two part installation. Opening of the art has already been done. The second part
(plinth) was always there but nothing on it. By the time the LCC asked the revitalization
committee to pay for it and the contract had expired. Erica says Revitalization says that it
