Open Space Advisory Board
Minutes
October 12, 2022
Laura pointed out that only mention of Open Space issues on the 2022 Council workplan
is "zoning," and parks/streetscape (which isn't really Open Space), and fire mitigation,
none of which are OSAB priorities.
The board wasn't sure how granular it was supposed to be with its suggestions, as the
instructions for this exercise are a little unclear. So they decided they would simply
suggest their top priorities for the 2023 workplan. This is the list that the boards wanted
Council to put on its workplan. This list will be finalized and ranked at the next meeting:
• Working on passing the Open Space/Parks sales tax extension
• Wayfinding (also a TMP priority)
• A new trails and open space master plan
• Money and priority on management and operations
• Balancing wildfire mitigation and wildlife management
Ember cautioned the board to remember the goals/criteria stated in the memo on page
55 for the best chance of success.
12. Discussion Items for the Next Meeting on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
A. Finalize 2023 City Council Workplan Recommendations
B. Finalize ranking of properties & trails proposals for Boulder County
C. Property acquisition process discussion led by Jessamine
D. A visit from a city finance director to discuss the Open Space/Parks sales tax
11. Adjourn
The meeting adjourned at 10:11 pm.
10
