E. F. INDUSTRIES, INC.

22 December 1975

JAY 1073

Mr. Leon Wur1, City Administrator
CITY OF LOUISVILLE
Louisville, CO 80027

Dear Leon,

Mr. Dave Shelton of the State Geological Survey Office, was
contacted today by our Mr. Les Jensen, who is Mana?er of
Engineering at E. F. Industries, Inc. Mr. Shelton s office
is directly involved in structures evaluation regarding
damage. Mr. Shelton was asked by Mr. Phil Stern, of the
Boulder County District Attorney's office, to look into
the "situation" in Louisville, particularly at Mr. Alex
Dominico's house. We presume that Alex Dominico and/or his
attorney went to the Boulder County D. A. 's office. Repre-
sentatives from Mr. Dave Shelton's office and Mr. Tom Gray,
who is County Geologist, visited Mr. Dominico's house to
inspect the damages.

The consensus of their op~n~on was that Mr. Dominico's house
deterioration was due to:

1) Age
2) Settling of underlying mines
3) Very poor footings
4) Poor construction (support joists)
5) Probably also due to ground movement caused by R.R.

Their conclusion was that EFI was not causing damage to Mr.
Dominico's house. These people are-iware of the federal
guidelines to which we adhere.

If addi tiona1 information is required, it was recommended that
EFI go through Mr. Tom Gray, the County Geologist.

Very truly yours,

in, Presi ent

P.O.
