<br />APPOINTMENTS CONTID <br /> <br />After discussion, roll call vote was <br />taken on the amendment by Councilman <br />DiCarlo. Domenico yes, Caranci yes, <br />DiLorenzo yes, DiCarlo yes, DelPizzo <br />yes, McDonald yes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Roll call was then taken on the motion <br />by Councilman Caranci as amended. <br />Domenico yes, DiLorenzo yes, Caranci <br />yes, DiCarlo yes, McDonald yes, DelPizzo <br />yes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />BOULDER COUNTY LEGAL <br />SERVICE REQUEST <br /> <br />Mr. Wurl stated that he had checked <br />into the City usuage of the Boulder <br />County Legal Services as requested by <br />Council. He stated that approximately <br />2% of cases handled were from Louisville <br />residents which would make the City <br />contribution approximately $85.00 <br />of the defecit if approved by Council. <br />Councilman DelPizzo stated that he did <br />not feel that the City should contribute <br />any money. <br />Councilman Domenico felt that Boulder <br />would be the City who would benefit most. <br />Councilman McDonald asked if there was <br />not already a Legal Aid program in <br />force. <br />Attorney Morris stated that Legal Aid <br />is for criminal cases and also cases <br />where no money is involved. It is <br />a program through the university. <br />Mr. Wurl stated that Steve Anderson <br />had stated that there was legal service <br />for matters dealing with homes, <br />tenants and renting. <br />Councilman DiCarlo asked if the agency <br />was involved with the Civil Liberties <br />Union. <br />Mr. Wurl stated that he was not sure, <br />but it may be possible that attorneys <br />working with the agency may be involved <br />also with the ACLU. He stated that <br />there is no money going from the agency <br />to the ACLU. <br />After discussion Councilman McDonald <br />moved that Council deny the request from <br />the Boulder County Legal Services for <br />a City contribution. <br />Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo. <br />Roll call. Domenico yes, DiLorenzo yes, <br />Caranci yes, DiCarlo yes, McDonald yes, <br />DelPizzo yes. Motion carried. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
