Hundley met <br /> with Associate Judge Lee Hawke earlier and Judge <br /> Hawke submitted a letter to Mayor and Council <br /> stating his interest in serving in the interim and <br /> possibly being considered for the appointed to the <br /> position. <br /> Mayor Maier moved that Council accept the letter <br /> of resignation from James K. Robinson as Municipal <br /> Judge. Luce seconded and the motion was passed <br /> unanimously. <br /> Hundley informed Council that Robinson agreed to <br /> remain in office until April 30, 1985. <br /> Leary moved that Associate Lee Hawke be appointed <br /> Municipal Judge for the remainder of this term. <br /> Cussen, seconded. <br /> Morris, Luce and Fauson all expressed a desire to <br /> have the position advertised. Leary concurred but <br /> reminded Council that due to the time factor <br /> involved and that Hawke was an original applicant, <br /> his appointment to this position would be <br /> appropriate. Cussen agreed with Leary's <br /> assessment of the appointment. <br /> Mayor Meier moved that Associate Judge Lee Hawke <br /> be appointed to the remaining term of Municipal <br /> Judge. By roll call, Meier, yes; Luce, yes; <br /> Morris, no; Fauson, no; Johnson , no; Leary, yes; <br /> Cussen, yea. Motion carried 4-3. <br /> Morris moved that applications be taken for the <br /> position of Associate Judge. Meier seconded. <br /> Motion carried 7-0. <br /> Cussen and Johnson volunteered to help review and <br /> screen applications for the Associate Judge <br /> position. Hundley was asked by Mayor Meier to <br /> notify Council as interviews are scheduled. <br /> 8 <br />
