..11
vacancy. At this time I will take their
recommendation and appoint Peter stewart and
Sharon and David Heyman to the Arts & Humani-
ties Council.
At this time Council was asked to consider
the appointments to the LLDR. They are about
to enter into their 1991 program and we had
two applicants apply for the three seats.
The LLDR committee needs to get the new mem
bers on board to select their officers for
1991. I was hoping that Council would give
that some consideration tonight.
Mayor Fauson asked Council to consider appointing Mark windstead
and Hank Bortz to the LLDR committee.
Carnival moved to appoint Mark Windstead and Hank Bortz to the
LLDR committee, seconded by Szymanski. All in favor.
Howard stated that he would like to amend the business at hand so
that he could address the concerns that were addressed tonight.
I had not seen this letter from the Chamber until tonight.
At this time Councilman Howard responded to the concerns of the
Chamber. That got me thinking that
perhaps for trust to take place I should take
the high ground.
Varra: As president of the Chamber of Commerce for
1991, I made a comment at the last board
meeting that I get tired of seeing in the
newspaper that we have problems in
Louisville. We are all on the same side of
the table. We are all trying to achieve the
same thing. Kevin, come join us at our
meetings and discuss how we are going to
improve economic development. We have a
committee through our Chamber. We need to
work as a team and I invite you to come sit
down and talk about these issues. I think
3
