-- ,

Davidson: Stated there is a big section of the curb
that is missing at the corner at Cherry
street and Madison and would like to have
this looked at.

Phare: He would look into it.

Mayor Fauson moved to authorize Public Works Engineering staff to
obtain bids for 1991 Capital Improvement projects, seconded by
Hornbostel. All in favor.

AWARD BID - NORTH LOUISVILLE SERVICE EXPANSION

Phare: Earlier this month the Public Works
Department received authorization from
Council to obtain bids for the North
Louisville Service Expansion project. The
project includes 2900 LF of 12" water main
and 240 LF of 8" sewer main to service
properties adjacent State Highway 42. The
City is obligated to extend services to these
properties as a condition of annexation.
Project bids were received on February 12th
and are indicated on the attached tabulation.
This is not the full obligation of the
annexation agreements.

Hornbostel moved to award the North Louisville Service Expansion
project to Hirschfeld Backhoe & Pipeline for $136,689.30 with
authorization for the Mayor and City Clerk to execute contract
documents on behalf of the city, seconded by Davidson.

AWARD - NORTH WATER TREATMENT PLANT VALVE ACTUATORS

Phare: Valve actuators are elctromechancial devices
that control the rate of water filtration at
various points in the water treatment plant.
The existing value actuators are worn to the
point where frequent repair is needed. A
cost comparison of rebuilding the existing
value actuators versus replacement indicates
replacement is the less expensive
alternative. Replacement of the valve
actuators will help insure the highest
reliability possible for the treatment plant
during the upcoming peak demand months. The
1991 Water Treatment Plant operation and
maintenance budget contains $18,000 for this
work activity.

Howard moved to award the bid to DRD Services in the amount of
$15,965.00 for labor and equipment to replace 4 filter effluent
valve actuators and 1 raw water valve actuator, seconded by Mayor
Fauson. All in favor.

14
