-- .
Intergovernmental Agreement dated March / , 1991 in
that form is not acceptable to the City of
Louisville.
Mayor Fauson: Was willing to wait until after the meeting that
will be held on Thursday night and if nothing
happens then move to get out of this.
Hornbostel moved that in the draft language that was presented in
the Northwest Parkway Intergovernmental Agreement dated March 7,
1991 the City of Louisville has the following unacceptable issues
with it: 1) our access was not guaranteed due to the fact of
inclusion of the language that says that the access for the
parkway is going to be less than a mile and that includes access
to CTC, STC and to 96th and Dillon by itself, 2) we also have
problems with it if there were any changing to the biding nature
of the Intergovernmental Agreement where each area would not be
represented by its own vote and we would not favor a 2/3
majority, 3 ) we would not favor the incorporation of the
authority nor tolling and 4) the language that involves the
portion of annexation between Louisville and Broomfield, seconded
by Davidson. All in favor.
Mayor Fauson: Felt the there needs to be a new alignment.
Carnival: Felt that the corridor needs to be widened. I do not
like the current alignment that they have now.
Council was still very concerned with the alignment of the road
and felt it could be moved further south and east and avoid the
homes along Dillon Road.
CONTINUE PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING NORTHWEST PARKWAY - TO RECEIVE
PUBLIC INPUT PRIOR TO FINALIZING THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENTS
ON THE PROPOSED MTDC NORTHWEST PARKWAY, WHICH IS IDENTIFIED AS
THE W470 ALTERNATIVE
Tom Mayer, 580 Wildrose Way
Mayer: I am in general support of the parkway proposal
and feel that the whole MTDC bill hangs on this
agreement succeeding. W-470 is already a is dead
issue. If we were to have any type of compromise
I feel that this is the opportunity. It is a very
difficult process. Frankly I think Boulder cares
about this highway in the first place. I think
their main interest is an open space agreement
between them and Jefferson County. I don't think
they understand Broomfield's problems. I think
people need to be made aware of the issues
concerning Louisville. One reason I support this
parkway is because you don't have to front load
capacity. I feel we have to respect the need for
current Louisville commercial centers such as CTC
and STC with regard to access. I think you need
8
